Torosay Information
Fort William is an ideal place to be based to enable you to visit all parts of the Western Highlands and its nearby islands. It provides easy access to Inverness, Drumnadrochit (the home of Nessie!), Inverary and Oban. It is also an ideal place to be based when visiting the stunning Isles of Skye, Mull, Iona and both the inner and outer Hebrides. There are many sporting opportunities to be found in or close to Fort William. The golf course is situated at the foot of Ben Nevis. Fishing, riding, walking, skiing and various water sports are all available in Fort William, known as the outdoor capital of the United Kingdom.
Fort William also boasts some excellent cuisine. Try for instance the Crannog Sea Food Restaurant, famously battered in January 2005 by the severe storms. There is also No 4 Restaurant, the Grand Hotel and, for that special occasion, the Inverlochy Castle Hotel.
There are many fine malt whiskies to be found in the western highlands, including the "Ben Nevis" in Fort William. So if you fancy a wee "dram" or two, then you will not have far to travel.
